out of the gate
August 20th, 2008Greetings,
The below are some comments by people that have used the brakes. it seems that they
Are forgetting that they weigh about 1/3 less than most of the stuff out there. The appearance and function seem to be winning the race here. When you compare the
Dollar to grams reduced these are a real bargan. Check the gear out when you get a chance.

Hello Bob,
I have spent some good time on the Feather brakes and am impressed. The brakes work great, look fabulous and we are ready to go. I have copied xxxxxx xxxxxxxx, he is one of the other Product Managers and will be handling getting this account set up and getting a buyer assigned here at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Thanks so much for your patience and I look forward to our mutual success with your brakes.

Hello Bob,
I got the pads, and I will get them to Ryan our test rider.
Here is Ryan’s initial report—3rd in the Elite Race on Saturday.
Hey,
I didn’t put these in word since you probably couldn’t open it.
The brakes….
These brakes are noticeably lighter than my dura ace when you compare the two of them. The brakes were relatively easy to install if the directions were followed. I put on the rear brake and kept my dura ace brake up front for one ride. The stopping power was similar to the dura ace but improved when the pad broke in a little. I then installed the front and rode them both for a week. After a few test rides I noticed to come to a complete stop took a little more effort although I liked the feel and tension of the brakes better than my dura ace. I also liked that the brakes weren’t quite as touchy and had better modulation than my dura ace brakes which could have been due to the pads. One thing I noticed was an unusual amount of aluminum dust showing up on my fork. I had a similar problem with the TRP’s and it was due to the brake pad compound. To sum it up, these brakes worked very well especially when you get used to them and you really can’t beat the weight.

Hello Bob,
Brakes doing well, photos of them today before the brake pad change—to the new pads. Test rider off to rider the Pyrenees’ in France—tough life hugh?

Hi Bob,
I apologize for the delay in getting you feedback on the brakes, however, now that I have had a couple of good solid rides with them I have the following comments:Appearance:
Excellent. They are the right red color for all the standard “reds” out there being used on bikes. The overall design is excellent as well, not too high profile but just enough that you want to take a closer look.
Performance:
These brakes are awsome. Light and Tight!!! I really like everything about how they feel from the feather ability to the full blown stop on the line. These brakes are the real deal and I am very comfortable in using them in a social ride setting as well as a race course.
The issue with the lack of quick release has not been tested to this point since I have not had a flat or had to change the wheel in a race setting.
Thank you for the opportunity to ride the sweet Feather brakes and let me know if there is anything else you are looking for in regards to feedback.
